I was strolling through the Wal-Mart cosmetics department last week and this Hard Candy Palette caught my eye.

As a huge fan of the Urban Decay naked palette how could it not?

It looked very similar so I had to bring it home with me.

Looks similar, but is it a dupe?

Well yes and no.

Swatch 1&2 UD Virgin & HC shadow 2. Swatch 3&4 UD Half Baked & HC shadow 4. Swatch 5&6 UD Smog & shadow 5. Swatch 7&8 UD Hustle & 10. Swatch 9&10 UD Buck & HC 7.

As you can tell from the swatches above there are several good dupes, but the problem I have with this palette is the quality.

I’d say only about 5-6 of the 10 shadows have good payoff with the other 4 being very very chalky.

I don’t know what to say I have such a love hate relationship with this palette.

Sigh….

I guess I’ll just go ahead and say if you have the money to spend buy the UD Naked Palette. The quality is amazing and I can’t say enough great things about it. It’s the best $50.00 I ever spent on a palette hands down.

If you don’t have the money or you’re very young or new to makeup then this is a good palette to learn and play with and you can find some good dupes for the UD Naked Palette without spending a lot of money. Keep in mind though that the quality won’t be the best.

The UD Naked Palette retails for $50.00 and the HC Naturally Gorgeous Palette $6.00.

My thoughts:

As a Dr.Oz fan I was very excited to try this product because it contains Matrixyl3000 which according to him is a “great anti aging ingredient”.

I’ve been using this product since late November and I really like it.

It left my skin feeling extremely hydrated, removed hyper pigmentation from old acne marks and left my skin looking radiant.

I’ll be honest and say I’m only 32 (33 later this month) and don’t have any wrinkles yet so I can’t say I saw a difference in that respect, but the few fine lines I have do seem to be disappearing.

My thoughts:

This product also contains Matrixyl3000 and is my favorite of the two products. I was a sun worshiper for most of teens and early 20′s so I’ve been left with lots of freckles and sun damage because of that.

This product has gotten rid of a lot of that and I think it’s also helped with the fine lines around my eyes.

Hard Candy Blush Skinny Dipping Review

I was reading the blog Crazy, Beautiful Makeup recently when I saw a post about this Hard Candy blush.

The post was titled “2 of my favorite blushes”.

So after seeing that I knew I had to go to WalMart and pick one up.

So what did I think?

The blush is a steal for $6.00!

It has amazing staying power and the packaging is lovely.

It actually reminds me of Benefit with the cute box and all.

I give this blush two thumbs up.
