Benefit They’re Real! mascara is a jet-black mascara that promises to lengthen, curl, volumize, lift, and separates lashes for a spectacular “out-to-here” look.
Research results:
In a consumer panel survey, the following results were reported:
- 94% saw dramatic length and volume
- 90% saw base-to-tip curl
- 94% saw visible lift
-100% saw long-wearing results
Sounds like Benefit is trying to tell us this mascara will deliver results as impressive as false eyelashes, but does it?
My thoughts:
They’re Real! mascara gave me jet black lashes with loads of length and a little volume.
It was also extremely long wearing and didn’t smudge or move on me all day.
I didn’t however notice a curl or tons of extra fullness/volume.
For me this mascara is an amazing lengthening one and one I would repurchase, but it didn’t give me a false lash effect at all.
When I think of fake lashes I think of loads of volume and thickness where as this mascara gives me long, spidery lashes with a little volume.
I do love it though and recommend it for anyone looking for gorgeous, long lashes.
Keep a few packs of falsies around though, because you’re still going to need them on occasion.
