MAC Prep + Prime highlighter ($24.00) is a pen-style highlighter that brings a soft sheer wash of color to the skin.
Use it over your makeup as a highlighter or under your makeup to brighten and prime.
The highlighter is available in 3 shades Light Boost (soft yellow cream), Radiant Rose (light shell pink) and Bright Forecast (mid tone peachy coral).
I picked up the shade Radiant Rose recently and to be honest I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed it before because I’m probably on my third tube at this point.
I guess it’s better late than never though right?
When I first heard about this product it was sold to me as a concealer and being someone that has pretty bad dark circles I honestly wasn’t a fan.
I mean it brightens and helps correct darkness a little, but just not enough for me to call it a concealer.
So if you’re looking at it for concealing purposes I wouldn’t recommend it.
What I do recommend it for though is a highlighter.
I usually use it where you see the white in the photo above and it does an amazing job at brightening and highlighting the skin.
The MAC girl who sold it to me told me that she thinks its a dupe for the cult favorite YSL Touche Eclat and I have to agree they’re very similar.
The biggest difference in my opinion in the price tag.
So if you’re looking for a great highlighter at a decent price then you may want to give this one a try.
